Victoria didn't start in therapy. She started as a paramedic and firefighter — working in environments where people needed real support, fast, with no I didn’t start in therapy. I started as a paramedic and a career firefighter, working in environments where people needed real help fast and nobody had patience for pretense. That’s still how I work: direct, grounded, and focused on what actually helps.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Mental Performance Consultant candidate through AASP. Licensed in Colorado, in person and by telehealth. I work with individuals, couples, athletes, teams, and crews — anxiety, burnout, trauma and critical incident aftermath, grief, identity and transition, substance use, disordered eating and body image in sport, and the psychological side of injury and return to sport or duty.
I don’t run one method. I pull from several and match them to who’s in the room. Somatic work, IFS, DBT, CBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing all show up, in different proportions depending on the person and the problem. I’m trauma-informed and crisis-trained. The format changes what’s useful too: one person, a couple, a team, a whole crew. What helps a firefighter three weeks after a bad call isn’t what helps an athlete six weeks post-op, and neither is what helps a couple who’ve stopped talking.
I’m a social worker before I’m anything else, which means I look at the whole environment: the crew, the team, the household, the schedule, the system somebody is operating inside. Most of what makes a job or a season hard isn’t happening inside one person’s head.
In plain terms: I’m not going to tell you what to do. I’m going to help you figure out what you actually want and build the capacity to go get it. Sessions have a point either way. We work specific problems with specific tools, track whether they’re working, and change the approach when they aren’t.
Not all of it is one-to-one. I do clinical advising for peer support programs, continuing education and psychoeducation for first responder agencies, critical incident response, team mental performance work, and consultation for clinicians and coaches who want a clinical voice in the room.
You don’t need a badge or a sport. Plenty of the people I see aren’t in either world. They’re getting through a hard season, working out who they are, or trying to stop white-knuckling everything. All of that belongs here.
When I’m not in session: my wife April is a collegiate sports performance coach, and we own a gym together — Alpine CrossFit in Wheat Ridge. Her work runs right alongside mine. She sees what the body is doing while I see what’s happening around it, and between us not much falls through the middle. That’s usually where I am. That, or outside with the dogs.
